Fann Studio is an exclusive and very popular series. It is an initiative of Bazm-e Urdu, Dubai, with the aim to provide exposure and encouragement to talented youth and to reveal the hidden talents of amateur artists -be it poets, singers, or orators- particularly of those who love Urdu. This series aims to boost the self-esteem and confidence of youth and to use their talent in promoting Urdu. The name Fann Studio has the fusion of both Fun and Fann (art) by itself.
Bazm-e Urdu is keen at providing a platform and exposure to the artists who have immense talent but are not able to get the kind of recognition and stage that they truly deserve, which could be due to various reasons like lack of resources, weak PR or self-promotional Skills or lack of ‘connection’ or a God Father!
Fann Studio is conducted in a very casual ambiance, where the performers and the audience interact and talk about the nuance of music and poetry; participation from amongst the audience is also encouraged regardless of their age, gender or any other criterion, the only condition is that they should fit into the theme or concept of that particular edition. The main aim of Fann Studio is to provide an atmosphere where the audience not only enjoys the performance of talented artists but is also exposed to the nuances of Urdu, resulting in indulgence in and love for the language.
So far our presentations have been highly appreciated and applauded by the audience, so much so that we even get calls and messages enquiring about when is our next Fann Studio happening?
